So let me talk about our lil girl. She turned 1 on feb 3. Shes had her 1 year which was awesome and really short due to the bagillion we had over the weeks prior. Clara had been battling what we thought was a super sensitive gag reflex. She had been like that as an infant..and when she got a cold it was inevitable with post nasal drip. BARF. So when we went skiing she started vomiting again, but this time, it was bad. After almost EVERY bottle. And she was irritable. We saw the doctor nuerous times. She has fluid in her ear..its not infected bu try using these numbing drops. And there is lots of ear wax in there use these drops to loosen that stuff up.
The crazy thing is that she was still able to gain weight. Finally it was so out of control...school was concerned crazed mom screamed at school...Clara ended up at childrens to check for a kidney infection. That means baby catheter. Poor thing. After that she ate and slept and then barfed all over me in the admitting room. IT was so horrible they gave me scrubs. nice.
Well guess what, our little bug had pneumonia. GAR! THe antibiotics kicked in immediately and what is most amazing about all of this....she started eating solids like bonkers...sleeping better....we all were better.
At Claras 1 year appointment she was 22lbs
( 50-75%) and 32 inches
( 95%) long? wait...32 or 33? 32 i think. Shes a big girl! She doesn't really have any words....or didnt then. Is cruising across all furniture, climbing the stairs....ahh so big and how fast a yer goes!!
Ive been interrupted by an almost 3 yr old that should be in bed..but is not.
WE did lots of things today on Richs Birthday. Daddy ran a half marathon and we all stayed home baked a cake, moved a 'square' bed into Avas room, went shopping for food and presents! There were many tears, time outs and naps.

I don't think there is a moment that i don't see Clara screaming for a bite to eat, scavenging leftovers on the floor or actually jamming food in her face. Shes a machine. I wish she was determined about walking like she was about food. Not that i care when she walks..but shes breaking our backs making us hold her hands while she walks around the house. And if you don do it her way...she throws herself on the floor and has a tantrum...ugga. I have to say Ava has been great about this phase with Clara. She hasn't really been too jealous or behaving badly for attention.
Ava on the other hand, is usually covered in maker. This past week she had drawn up and down her legs with purple marker....as you can see there is a dot above her eye there. Ava is ALSO a fabulous eater...she just seems to 'regulate' a bit more normally.

whoa. that is a scary face! So, if you dont know already, we've taken the girls out of school and gotten a 'teacher' at home. Rich likes to say 'teacher' in case Ava were to misunderstand Miss Amys role. Amy was Avas teacher last year at Arlington Heights Nursery School. It just so happened that the stars aligned and our lives were nuts and stressed out with our daily school routine.....so we jumped. We now have a nanny or a 'teacher' at home. I cried when we left school. I hugged all the teachers and said goodbye. BUT the good news is that Ava will be going back for preschool 3 mornings a week in September!

We had a little party for Clara at home. It was great fun for her...I think! She did great loved her cake! She got lots of really great stuff! And most of all she got to hang with her cousins!
