Avas First Ice Skate 2009
Rich took Ava on her first skate at Daley Rink. Daley Rink used to house our boats before our new boathouse was built a few years ago. So it seemed to be fitting that that is where Miss A went for the first time out! She did great, she was really focused and determined. Im so delayed in writing this stuff, but Ava has since been several times skating, including on the pond at Menotomy Rocks! She is doing well skating by herself, so Rich says. I haven't witnessed it yet.
What is great about skating for Ava is that it not only physically gets her, it mentally drains her. She has to remain focused and thoughtful to what she is doing, so she is usually just wiped by the time she gets home. Appa
rently Rich and Ava have a tradition of getting starburst at the rink between skates. Mind you this is the man that told me we need to cut Ava off from sugar. I was reminded of this as I was trying to get Ava out of the Y after her swim lesson. Not only did I have to reach down into the pool and grab her by the shoulder to physically pull her out of the pool(remember I got Clara on one hip), drag her across the decking and bring her to the locker room. From there I had to indulge in watching some teens play basketball(Ava was really into this) and pass the vending machine on the way out. "Mommy!! I WANT a starburts!"..."I NEED it!!"...good god! They didn't even have starburst....so you can imagine how that went.
Christmas Afternoon 2009
Every year on Christmas day when spend the afternoon with Richs family. This year we all gathered at Tricias. This always such fun for the kids. Especially Ava. She runs around like crazy with her cousins, eats lots of sugar and engages in an opening present frenzy!
Christmas Morning 2009
And here we are Christmas Day! SO much to see and so much to play with!!! Clara loved her piano and pretty much played with that all morning. Ava was smitten with her ice skates and couldn't stop putting them on all morning. She was walking all over the house with them....with guards of course.
Christmas Eve with Grammy Great, Grammy and Grandpa Pete
As per our usually tradition my family comes over on Christmas Eve to do Christmas! This is now becoming very exciting with Ava really start to get into the Christmas spirit.
CBC Christmas Party 2009
Every year Cambridge Boat Club has a Christmas party for the kids where Santa comes via launch and listens to what kids want. They had a woman come and sing songs and do dramatic song with the kids too! Ava had a blast! Then they finish it off with free ice cream! Yum.

Christmas 2010!
This is gonna be a long one. BRACE yourself! For openers, because there are a few people that have been waiting for this 5 minute video. This was Ava walking downstairs to see the tree and presents right after she woke up!
Winter Snow
We've have gotten quite a bit of snow this year so far. Its been great for Ava to go sledding, taste and play with her friends at school in. She was just saying the other day she got stuck in the snow and her good friend Olivia pulled her out!
Shes also grown out of her snow pants from last year! crazy kid. We got some sassy ones from target to cut it for the winter. And they seem to be just fine. Thought Ava has this problem with getting cold outside....maybe it has to do with the absence of fat on her frame? ;)
Clara has also been enjoying the snow at school. They have been bringing it in for the kids to play with and she just was about over the moon to play with it!
Where to begin.
Its been too long and so much has happened, namely Christmas. There are LOTS of photos and videos that need posting. There will be a flurry of updates after this. STAY TUNED!
Ava came to work with me one day to tie up some things. Free jolly ranchers at the front desk! ;)
