Pan Mass Challenge

This past weekend Rich, Tricia, Dave Carlstrom and Greg Down all rode together as teamYride to help raise money for Dana Farber. Tricia, Rich and Dave moms lost their struggle to cancer this past year. I am sure Greg is racing for a cause but I don't know the details. However, I do know this is his third year riding.

Rich stayed at Tricias, woke up at 3.30 to start the drive to Sturbridge for the 5.30 start. They all rode strong and landed in Bourne at 1.30pm. The next day they started again at 5.30 and headed for Ptown. Dennis was en route so they stopped to see family and friends along the way. Meanwhile, I was driving to Ptown with the girls eagerly awaiting the finish! We met up with Adam so Clara could spill my REALLY hot coffee all over his shorts. EEK!

Then we headed for the finish line where Doug and the kids were along with the Dowd family. Adam held a few signs up with the kids as we cheered riders on and the kids begged to get on NECN. We slapped hands with many riders crossing the lines....but were really waiting to see our team. We got the call 1 mile out......and they came through with big smiles on. Rich completely and totally missed us. We were yelling and waving but he could not see us....even though he was trying. He was trying hard enough that the other 3 crossed the finish line and made it on NECN doing so without him. HA!

Every one did great and rode hard. The kids were awesome supporters making lots of signs and cheering them on. After lunch we went home to prepare for a BBQ in the back yard. The weather held off and we got to see the team on TV! great stuff.

Potty Training

Im no sure Ive talked about this yet! miss Ava over 2 weeks ago told me she wanted underwear. Most parents are probably enthusiastic about this, I however was not. Potty training is WORK. We've got an infant in the house...I don't have time for this. And truth be told Ava was ready for this before Clara was born. I REALLY just didn't have the time or space to deal with it.

So off we went to Babies r Us to get diapers, formula, baby food , underwear and anything else that I thought we needed. Im loading that last bag and box of diapers in and then clipping Ava in her seat...PRAYING that Clara stays asleep. And Ava says, " Mommy, where is my underwear?" DRAT! I forgot it and i was hoping she would too...but who can honestly deny their child underwear when they are asking for it? Off to Target. 7 pairs of Elmo undies. And DONE.

She did AWESOME. Within the first 30 minutes of wearing, i decided to go see the Strom's, which requires at least a 15 minute drive. I told myself to be brave and ready for a mess. No MESS! Same thing on the way home...NO MESS! so i let her play in the car. BAD IDEA. Mess. pp on the back seat. At least it wasn't her seat. Id let her do that the following day. WHAT a disaster taking that thing apart and washing it all up. UGGA.

Shes had a few #2 accidents at school on the first few days. and this weekend and had a couple pp accidents which he think is due to the fact she was SO TIRED. We were down the cape watching daddy and auntie Tricia and friends ride the Pan Mass challenge. That means no naps....late bed time = EXHAUSTED child.

All in all, shes been great on then potty. Only wear a diaper at night and nap time. Has woken up a few times with dry diaps during nap time..so she could be ready soon for undies only. We'll see. Im sure school will let me know.

We now have 21 pairs of Elmo underwear.
