So we tried it. A baseball game with the family and some friends on a hot July Sunday afternoon. No clouds but a slight breeze. Shockingly Clara did the best. Ava was a turd through the process of getting out of the car and applying sunscreen. Apparently I brought the WRONG sunscreen for her. Meltdown central.
THe good news about the Lowell Spinners is that its super kid friendly. If you thought the NBA was a circus...this crushes. Every inning there was a side show. Dogs catching Frisbees, the mystery machine tearing around the field tossing out t-shirts. 2 Giant alligators dancing on the dugouts and throwing t-shirts. Bugs bunny and Donald duck were there...crazy balloon trick guy also had a booth. Ava enjoyed these over sized characters until Donald tried to shake her hand. The alligators also caught her attention. She kept saying, "The alligators teeth are not for biting people." I dont know why this was crossing her mind....with the exception of the giant felt teeth protruding from his jaw.
We all made it to the 7th inning which we thought was pretty impressive. We cooled off in the blue kiddie pool afterwards.

What to do after School?
Why not drag yourself through the sand? Better yet go swimming run out and then lie down and pull yourself through the sand. Good times. When Rich got home tonight we went to the Arlington Reservoir for a swim before dinner. We were actually going to have pizza delivered, but Ava was turning blue and shivering. With no sun it was hard to get her warm. She dunked her head under -by accident. Drank a little water with that. EWe. Its a nice thing to do at the end of the week, that is for sure.

Claras first bite!
If you can call it that. IT was more soupy than solid for sure. At dinner, Clara watched Rich put every bite of food into his mouth - so we figured it was time to bust open the rice cereal.

More Fourth Vacation
Clara was talking a lot from her high squealy voice to a sound that was not human, I SWEAR! It was so funny. And still is! Clara was a doll the whole time. Stayed on schedule and enjoyed the many arms and smiles that were given to her. It was her first real dip into the ocean...feet only. I think she LIKED it! If not, shell learn. ;)
Ava saw her first hermit crab and was fascinated with the lil guy inside. She kept trying to pull him out. I kept having to explain to her that they live in there its their home like Avas house is her home. Her response was nothing other than, "WHY??"...over and over again. UGH! Everything is 'why?' or 'whats that?' EVERYTHING. She did release a tiny crab back into the ocean that was close to death from the clench of her forefinger and thumb. Poor guy.
She ran and ran and ran in and out of the ocean until she was blue and shivering....tearing her suit off and laughing. "mommy go deep!" was a line i heard often, meaning mommy please hold my hands and take me out deep up to my chest...and then i want to let go and walk myself into the beach. HA! i don't think so.
The Rings came out to spend the holiday with us as well. Ava and Clara really enjoyed chillin with Max. I think Max has the best baby hairdo I have ever seen. Its incredible.
I have SO MANY more photos....UGGA! So enjoy these for now. My apologies to the other cousins and lack of pics.
